Kinder Program

Outside testing size

Our 4 year old kindergarten programs run for 15 hours per week, with sessions spread over either 3 days or 2 days.

An offsite Bush Kinder program is currently offered to one group, during one of their sessions in selected dates during Term 2 and Term 3.

Our 3 year old pre-kinder programs run for 3.5 hours per week in one session.

Across the Pre-School, we offer an educational program which draws on our skills and knowledge of child development and the Early Years Learning Framework to deliver high quality education and care.

Experienced educators in partnership with families provide a quality program based on children’s learning and interests in all areas of development, supporting the research that children learn best through play.

Your child will be encouraged to participate in a program based on their individual needs and interests.  An Early Literacy Program is offered to the four year olds, and construction, dramatic play, language, music, art and craft and math’s/science activities all form part of the daily program.

Universal Access to Early Childhood Education

The Australian Government has committed to ensuring that every child has access to a quality early childhood education program.  The program is to be delivered by a four-year university-trained early childhood teacher, for 15 hours a week, 40 weeks a year, in the year before formal schooling.

     Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)

The EYLF is the national learning framework that has been developed to ensure that your child receives a quality educational program.  The EYLF's vision is for all children to experience play-based learning that is engaging and builds success for life within the principles of "Belonging, Becoming and Being".

The 5 Learning Outcomes are designed to capture the integrated and complex learning and development of all children across the birth to five age range.

The outcomes are:
• Children have a strong sense of identity
• Children are connected with and contribute to their world
• Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
• Children are confident and involved learners
• Children are effective communicators

     Parent Helpers

We encourage parents to assist at Pre-School and a roster for your child's group is posted in the foyer at the start of each term.  This is a great way to interact with your child and to meet their friends.  Your help is always appreciated by the teachers and the children.  Toddlers are welcome to accompany you, but must remain in your care at all times.  Please add their name to the bottom of the sign in book and sign them in at the start of the session and out at the end.

     Evacuations

Familiarise yourself with the emergency procedure for evacuating the building.  These procedures are located in the foyer.  Ensure you know all the exits within the building, as it is asked that parents on duty be responsible in helping evacuate the children from the building if required.
