Kinder
Our 4-year old kindergarten program is a 15-hour funded program run by a qualified Teacher and Educators.
We run 4 different groups of 4-year old kindergarten ranging from 2 long days or 3 shorter days.
Kindergarten is a play based educational experience led by a qualified teacher in the year prior to starting school. It is beneficial in building confidence, enhancing social skills and enhancing physical abilities. Children learn to share, understand feelings and learn to self-regulate their emotions.
Kindergarten provides access to support for children with additional needs and access other community services and early intervention programs. We welcome and work closely with all additional supports children and families may require.
At Lara Lake Community Preschool, we use the Early Years Learning Framework to support a strength-based learning approach for all children. We document highlights and continual development throughout the year. We value family input and integrate our local community within our learning programs.
Within our programs we offer a number of additional experiences for the children to participate in such as Drama Toolbox, Wildlife Exposure, Book-week, excursions within our local community such as Serendip, You Yangs, Lara Museum, Lara Library, the supermarket, bakery plus many more!
We welcome and encourage family helpers at our kindergarten for a number of different roles. From helping in the classroom, assisting with our cooking programs, assisting us on excursions or even helping us in the vegetable garden.
